By the term ‘diabetic neuropathy’ is meant, in short, damage to nerves which is also known us ‘preipheral diabetic neuropathy’ in which condition the nerves of extremities, especially lower extremities, are affected. The patient may have pain in calves, heels and feet and may often say that he is losing legs’ or ‘his legs are unable to keep pace with him.’ These are some of averments of diabetics. The patients may also complain of numbness in lower legs. Pain in legs points to diabetic neuralgia. Lack of proper blood circulation may also lead to such a situation. But, all such signs can be easily controlled if glucose level is controlled. As soon as it is achieved, such symptoms would automatically disappear. Diabetic neuropathy is a transitory or short-lived symptom and is not a permanent complication, so to say.
